LUCKNOW (PTI): Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday visited Central Command headquarters here and interacted with senior Army officers.
The minister was briefed by Army Commander, Central Command Lt Gen Rajan Bakhshi on the state of operational preparedness of the central Army and current security situation in the area, according to an official release said.
Parrikar commended the functionaries for their sincerity and commitment.
He expressed satisfaction over the efforts being made by the Central Command to ensure that the Army remains a potent, responsive and accountable instrument of national power, the release said.
He also visited the Central Command War Memorial 'Smritika' and appreciated the recently installed murals of Param Vir Chakra awardees of Uttar Pradesh.
