Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh releases Brahmand World Defence Update 2022

NEW DELHI: Hon'ble Defence Minister of India Shri Rajnath Singh released the 11th edition of global military yearbook 'Brahmand World Defence Update 2022' at South Block, New Delhi today on 20th June, 2022.

The yearbook, an initiative of BrahMos Aerospace, was released in the presence of Hon'ble Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt, Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, Dept. of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO, Shri Atul Dinkar Rane, DG BrahMos, DRDO & CEO and MD of BrahMos Aerospace and Dr. Sanjeev Kr Joshi, Dy CEO of BrahMos Aerospace.
 
The Foreword of the yearbook has been penned by Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Secy, Dept. of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO.

The yearbook comprehensively and incisively covers important defence-related data, facts & figures of 113 countries worldwide, including strategic information on 33 important countries, with the objective to provide a thorough assessment of present-day global military order.

This yearbook is specially prepared, keeping in view of India's plan to become a major exporter of defence equipment, and hence, ensures up-to-date coverage focusing on each country's overall military capability by highlighting its existing weapons inventory, ongoing/ future arms procurement plans, annual defence spending and core conflict areas in addition to important political & defence personnel.

Strategic information on 33 leading countries selected from each continent/ region has focused on their geopolitical importance, strategic relations, threat perception, defence capabilities and defence budget trends.

In its latest edition, the yearbook has covered a special chapter on “Counter-Terrorism & National Security” aspects of six major countries – Germany, India, Israel, Russia, UK and the USA. It has highlighted how terrorism across several parts of the world has posed a serious threat to national security and what efforts are being undertaken by each nation to counter this ever-growing menace.
