BEIJING (BNS): China has successfully launched its “Zhongxing-20A” communications satellite on Thursday.
The satellite was launched by the Long March 3A carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province at 12.09 am Thursday. It was then put in its designated orbit, the official Xinuha news agency reported.
Zhongxing-20A will help improve the country’s radio and TV broadcasts, the launch centre said.
Earlier this month, China successfully put into orbit its sixth 'Beidou' or Compass navigation satellite and a new meteorological satellite of the Fengyun-3 (FY-3) series.
