NEW DELHI (PTI): India will discuss the ways of strengthening bilateral military ties with Singapore during its Chief of Defence Force Lt Gen NEO Kian Hong's three-day visit here.
During the visit which began on Tuesday, the Singaporean defence chief will hold meetings with top Indian defence brass including Defence Minister A K Antony and the three Services Chiefs.
Maritime cooperation has been a key area of cooperation between India and Singapore in the recent past.
For strengthening defence ties, the two countries also have a structured India-Singapore Defence Policy Dialogue which started in 2003.
Singaporean Air Force and Army personnel also visit India annually to practice their manoeuvres at Indian field firing ranges.
The Singapore Air Force team comes to the Kalaikunda Air Base in West Bengal for aerial exercise whereas its Army team visits Babina and Nashik firing ranges for armoured and artillery exercises.
