CSI, RSD launches new combat vehicle family


8-seat medium-weight class vehicle.

FLORIDA (BNS): CSI and RSD have launched a new Mountain Lion family of high mobility armored vehicles at the NDIA Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC).

The first prototype of the 8-seat medium-weight class vehicle was exhibited at the launch.

CSI, in partnership with RSD, has been a consistent resource to the US Army and Marine Corps, for the successful acquisition, testing, development and production of numerous mine-detection and counter-IED vehicles and systems currently deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.

"All Mountain Lion variants will combine and improve upon generations of combat-proven designs from our VMMD Husky currently deployed with US forces in Afghanistan and Iraq ," CSI President, Shon Craig, said.

"The end result is a mobile, protective and versatile next-generation line of vehicles capable of operating in mountainous and rough terrain," he added.

The Mountain Lion family of vehicles spans the weight, protection and performance range from JLTV to MRAP.

The vehicle has an increased mobility, permanent 4 wheel steering that creates a turning circle of 40ft. It has a fully independent suspension with a 16" ground clearance. It gives an enhanced and extended protection with one piece (monocoque) V-shaped armored hull for crew and critical sub-systems.

It also consists of multiple seating configurations for up to 12 occupants. The Increased payload for a wide range of command and control functions as well as route clearance and combat support roles.
