CSC receives two US Navy task orders for $56 mln


FALLS CHURCH (BNS): Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has been awarded two task orders with an estimated value of $24 million and $32 million from US Navy, for providing computer simulation, engineering and model test support.

The five year contract is given under the SeaPort Enhanced indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity contract, which was originally awarded to CSC in April 2004.

These contracts were awarded to CSC during the company’s fiscal 2010 fourth quarter that ended in April 2010.

“CSC is pleased to continue our 30-year history with the US Navy by leveraging our extensive computer simulation experience to reduce costs and maximise human performance,” Patrick Dougherty, vice president and general manager of CSC’s North American Public Sector, Defense and Maritime Operations, said in a company news release.

Under the terms of the first task order, CSC will provide support for computer, software simulation, control systems development, engineering and data analysis for US Navy submarines, surface ships and unmanned vehicles.

CSC will also provide support for full-scale and model-scale testing of US Navy submarines, surface ships, unmanned vehicles, including making submarine and surface ship models in the second task order.

The company will work on the orders at its facilities in West Bethesda, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Work under both task orders will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division.
