BrahMos Aerospace debuts at BSX-2010

BANGALORE (BNS): BrahMos Aerospace – the manufacturer of world’s only supersonic cruise missile BRAHMOS – is taking part in the second edition of Bengaluru Space Expo-2010.

The company is exhibiting various launch platforms for the universal missile system. These include the air-launched version, naval version and land attack version of BRAHMOS.

Successful launches of the missile from different platforms are also being showcased in a video display.

Jointly developed by India and Russia, BRAHMOS is a universal missile system that can be fitted in ships, mobile launchers, submarines and aircraft.

The supersonic cruise missile has a flight range of 290 km with a speed of 2.8 Mach.

The missile has already been inducted in the Indian Army and Navy. Its air-launched version is presently being developed for integration in the Indian Air Force’s Su-30MKI fighter aircraft.
