SEATTLE (BNS): Boeing will deliver up to 60 Next-Generation 737-800s to a new leasing company Air Lease Corporation (ALC) by 2017.

The order, first announced at the Farnborough Airshow in July, 2010, is valued at $4.6 billion at list prices.

According to the manufacturers, in addition to 54 737 Next Generation firm orders the deal includes six additional airplanes to be reconfirmed.

"Our management team has been working closely with Boeing for more than 30 years. This order for Next-Generation 737-800s continues that great tradition,” Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, Chairman and CEO of Air Lease Corporation said.

In November 1993, Boeing replaced its 737 Classic series, with the 737 Next Generation series (600, -700, and -800) which were built with new improvised features.
