BRAHMOS pride of our nation towards self-reliance: Air Marshal RK Sharma

YELAHANKA, BENGALURU (BNS): Vice Chief of Indian Air Force Air Marshal RK Sharma, AVSM, VM visited the BrahMos pavilion on the third day of Aero India 2015, which is displaying the BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missile at the international event.

Shri Sudhir Mishra, CEO and MD, BrahMos Aerospace, briefed the Vice Chief of IAF about the different variants of BRAHMOS missile system.

Air Marshal RK Sharma praised the BRAHMOS missile system and said, "BRAHMOS is the pride of our nation towards self-reliance. I wish the team good luck."

The supersonic cruise missile has already been inducted by the Indian Army and the Navy.

With a range of 290 km, the missile has a capability of carrying 300 kg conventional warhead at a speed of 2.8 Mach.

In its air version, the supersonic cruise missile is going to equip the IAF's frontline multi-role Su-30 MKI strike fighter.

BrahMos Aerospace, the joint venture entity between India's Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia's Military Industrial Consortium/NPO Machinostroyenia, has been designing, developing, producing and marketing the BRAHMOS Weapon System.
