CHANDIGARH (PTI): The Chetak Corps of the Army celebrated its 47th Raising Day at the Bathinda Military Station on Tuesday, marking the momentous day of its raising on July 1, 1979, under the command of Lieutenant General M L Tuli, according to an official statement.
With its motto of 'Fight Forward, Fight Aggressive', the Chetak Corps, since its raising, has evolved into a highly professional, battle-ready and operationally effective formation through a series of transformations, said the statement.
Lieutenant General Shamsher Singh Virk, General Officer Commanding of Chetak Corps, along with all ranks, laid wreaths at the 'Yodha Yaadgar' War Memorial, in revered remembrance of the bravehearts who laid down their lives during the various battles fought by the formation while safeguarding the boundaries of the nation.
He exhorted all ranks of the Corps to continue to perform their duties with utmost dedication and to uphold the highest traditions of the Army.
According to the statement, he praised all ranks for their high state of readiness, which was evident during 'Operation Sindoor' and urged them to remain operationally ready to take on future assignments with selfless resolve and courage.
