Army chief reviews ops readiness of Western Command


CHANDIMANDIR, HARYANA (PTI): Army Chief General Bikram Singh on Monday reviewed the operational preparedness of the Western Army, a defence spokesman said.

The Army Chief, who arrived here on a two-day visit of the Western Command Headquarters, expressed satisfaction following his inspection, he added.

Singh complimented the Western Command for its "high level of operational preparedness" and asked them to focus on long-term all-round capability-building endeavours.

Singh was learnt to have also attended the 66th anniversary celebrations of the Western Command, the spokesman added.

Earlier, Lt Gen Philip Campose, GOC-in-C, Western Command, received the Army chief at the Chandimandir helipad.

Meanwhile, Bubbles Singh, President, Central Army Wives' Welfare Association, spent time with the special children of the Asha School at Chandimandir, the spokesman said.
