Army Chief visits BrahMos pavilion at Aero India 2021


Dr. Sudhir Kumar Mishra, Distinguished Scientist & Director General (BrahMos), DRDO, and CEO and MD, BrahMos Aerospace, briefed the Army Chief about the BRAHMOS weapon system and its achievements.

BENGALURU (BNS): Chief of Army Staff, Gen. M M Naravane, visited the BrahMos Aerospace pavilion on the inaugural day of Aero India 2021 on Wednesday. The Army Chief was briefed by Dr. Sudhir K Mishra, CEO & MD of BrahMos, about the formidable BRAHMOS Weapon System and the major milestones the India-Russia defence JV has achieved over the years.

Indian Army has operationalised the mobile land attack BRAHMOS cruise missile variants since 2007. It is the only land force in the world in possession of the deadly precision strike weapon.

In November 2020, the Army conducted two successive successful test firings of BRAHMOS from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, revalidating the missile's capability to precisely hit land-based targets in "top-attack" mode.

The multi-role, multi-platform BRAHMOS has also been inducted in the Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.

MoUs worth Rs 1,53,000 crore signed at DefExpo 2022

As many as 451 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements worth Rs 1.53 lakh crore were signed during the Defence Expo or DefExpo 2022 at Gandhinagar, a senior official said.
