TEZPUR (PTI): Army Chief General Dalbir Singh visited the Gajraj Corps areas in Assam and various formations of the Army to review their operational readiness in the eastern flanks and the internal security situation.
During his two-day visit that concluded Tuesday, the Army Chief, along with Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Command Lt Gen Praveen Bakshi, was briefed by Gajraj Corps GOC Lt Gen Devraj Anbu who updated him on the security situation in Assam, a defence spokesman said.
The Army Chief expressed his satisfaction on the conduct of operations by the Army in bringing the insurgency situation under control.
He also reviewed the defence preparedness of the Gajraj Corps which is deployed on the Line of Actual Control along the international border.
