Airbus to deliver two A320 aircraft to AI, Indigo

HYDERABAD (PTI): France-based aviation major Airbus Industries will be delivering two A320 aircraft to Air India and Indigo Airlines during 'India Aviation 2010' scheduled to open on March 3 at Begumpet airport here.

The event, a five-day conference and exhibition of international aviation, is being organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

According to FICCI Regional Director (Trade Fairs), Lt Col Vivek Kodikal, the company chose to deliver the two aircraft during the event.

The Boeing -777 (the longest Boeing with a seating capacity of 358) series aircraft, Beachcraft and Bombardier aircraft would be on display.

Aviation biggies like GE Aviation, Bell, Textron, Gulfstream and Hawker would also participate. AN-148, a passenger aircraft from Antavov/UAC, Russia, will be displayed in the exhibition for the first time in India.

As many as 200 companies would participate and more than 500 international delegates would participate in various conferences, Kodikal told reporters.

While France is the partner country and the USA is focus country, there would be country pavilions from Canada, Czech Republic, Russia, Germany and Netherlands, Kodikal said.

The city police said they are making elaborate security arrangements for the event. "As many as 1,500 police personnel are drawn from various wings of the department to oversee the arrangements," Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Zone) T Murali Krishna said.

The entire venue will be closely monitored with 30 closed circuit TVs installed at various points in addition to 30 being installed by FICCI.

Police said dog squads and anti-sabotage squads would be on standby.
