Aerobatic display marks the conclusion of Aero India 2013

BANGALORE (PTI): Aerobatic display by metal birds enthralled tens of thousands of aviation enthusiasts at Yelahanka airbase here on Sunday as the curtains came down on the five-day Aero India 2013, Asia's premier airshow.

'Sarang', the helicopter display team of Indian Air Force, 'Flying Bulls' of Czech Rupublic and valiant 'Russian Knights' were among those who thrilled the week-end crowd at the ninth edition of the biennial event organised by the Department of Defence Production.

Defence minister AK Antony had announced on the inaugural day on February 6 that the next Aero India would be held here from February 18 to 22, 2015.

The five-day show also witnessed graceful flight displays of 1930s vintage Tiger Moth aircraft, which made its flight appearance after a gap of 22 years. LCA Tejas showed some breathtaking loops and vertical charlies in the skies.

Aviation enthusiasts witnessed a lot of adventure, excitement and colours of thrill over the last five days.

The Sarang team flew four HAL Dhruvs. Flying Bulls is one of the most accomplished European aerobatics teams and has been a member of the Red Bull family. It comprises of four pilots (three men and one woman) and they presented formation aerobatics.

The Sukhoi-27 Russian Knights aerobatic team of Russian Air Force performed demonstration flights for the first time in India.
