BANGALORE (BNS): Indian Defence Minister A K Antony visited the BrahMos pavilion at ‘Aero India’ which kicked off in Bangaluru, Wednesday.
The Minister praised the BRAHMOS missile system and said “it is a role model of cooperation which has given excellent results."
The supersonic cruise missile has already been inducted by the Indian Army and the Navy.
With a range of 290 km, the missile has a capability of carrying 300 kg conventional warheads at a speed of around 2.8 Mach.
For the air version, the Indian Air Force (IAF) plans to fit BRAHMOS cruise missile on to the Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft.
BrahMos Aerospace is a joint venture between Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) and Military Industrial Consortium/MPO Machinostroyenia of Russia the remaining equity.
