MOSCOW (BNS): Russia’s next generation S-500 missile defence system is expected to solve the country’s missile defence problems when it enters into the service.
"The S-500 missile defence system is a system that will solve Russia's missile defence problems," Air Force Commander Colonel General Alexander Zelin was quoted as saying in a RIA Novosti news report.
S-500 will be having an extended range of up to 600 km and can simultaneously engage up to 10 targets, the report said.
The S-500 is a new generation surface-to-air missile system, designed for intercepting intercontinental ballistic missiles and for defence against Airborne Early Warning and Control, Airborne Warning and Control System, and jamming aircraft.
