KATHMANDU (BNS): India has agreed to resume military cooperation with Nepal as both countries meet over a three day joint-secretary level meeting at Katmandu. India will also provide training to Nepalese security personnel to upgrade their security level and military intelligence.

Since February 2005 after king Gyanendra assumed absolute power and dissolved the multi power government, India has suspended its military cooperation with the nation.

Both countries decided to construct an airbase for the Nepalese Army in western Nepal and to enhance Nepal military intelligence.

In the meeting, the Indian delegation was led by Joint Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs, Satish Mehata, while Nepal's delegation was led by his Nepalese counterpart Arun Prasad Dhital at the Nepal-India Bilateral Consultative Group meeting held on Sunday.
