Lt Gen Ghai appointed as Military Advisor to NSCS
Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, who served as the Indian Army's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) during ‘Operation Sindoor’, has been appointed as the Military Advisor to the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), it is learnt.
He is currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy).
The NSCS is headed by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
Lt Gen Ghai is set to be the next Military Advisor to the NSCS. He will succeed Gen N S Raja Subramani, who recently took charge as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), sources said.
In his capacity as the DGMO of the Indian Army, Lt Gen Ghai had played a key role along with his counterparts from the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy in execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’.
In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7 last year carrying out airstrikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir eliminating at least 100 terrorists.
