BRAHMOS @ Defexpo 2020
DefExpo 2020 themed as "Digital Transformation of Defence" will be held from 5 to 9 February 2020, for the first time at Vrindavan Yojna, Sector 15, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The biennial mega defence exhibition will bring together leading technologies in the defence sector under one roof and provide a myriad of opportunities for government, private manufactures, startups and the entire spectrum of India's aerospace, defence and security interests. The 11th edition of the exhibition will focus on 'Digital Transformation' in the defence industry. The exhibition will be organised by Defence Exhibition Organisation (Ministry of Defence, Government of India). The event is poised to witness larger participation of defence manufacturers from both the public and private sectors, OEMs and MSMEs. It will also provide an ideal platform for business, decision makers and policymakers to interact, to address common concerns while promoting India as a defence manufacturing hub. In a major outreach to global defence manufacturing industries, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India's defence sector was exploring "mutually beneficial" partnerships with friendly countries to set up industries at home and abroad... More than 100 business events and seminars are being planned with over 1,000 exhibitors expected to take part in the DefExpo. DefExpo 2018 - the 10th edition of the biennial mega defence exhibition-pitched India as the 'Emerging Defence Manufacturing Hub'. The Previous edition witnessed over 50 bilateral G2G Meetings, the signing of 40 MoUs, and witnessed participation from over 700 exhibitors.
BrahMos Aerospace will showcase the world-class BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missile system at the Defexpo 2020 to be held at Vrindavan Yojna, Sector 15, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The BRAHMOS weapon system, a product of the defence Joint Venture between India and Russia, is a major attraction for visitors.

BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missile is capable of hitting sea based targets beyond radar horizons. It can be launched in either inclined or vertical configuration based on the type of the ship. The vertical launch configuration of BRAHMOS enhances the stealth capabilities of the warships as the missiles are under the deck and not exposed. The Universal Vertical Launcher (UVLM) being used in these ships has a unique design, developed and patented by BrahMos Aerospace. The potential carriers are Destroyers, Frigates, Corvettes, Offshore patrol vessels and any other type of ships. The Indian Navy has currently deployed the missile system on almost all the front line surface warships of the maritime force.

BRAHMOS is a formidable weapon system with its unmatched speed, precision and devastating power. BRAHMOS Land based Weapon Complex comprises of four to six Mobile Autonomous Launchers (MAL) controlled by a Mobile Command Post (MCP), and a Mobile Replenishment Vehicle.
The unique BRAHMOS weapon system on numerous occasions has established its supremacy in the World of supersonic cruise missiles. The mobile land-based configuration of BRAHMOS has achieved several advancements over the years with each having its own distinct potentiality to hit and destroy enemy target.
Air-Based Weapon System
BRAHMOS Air Launched Cruise Missile System
BrahMos has successfully integrated world's most formidable supersonic cruise missile system BRAHMOS on Su-30MKI frontline strike fighter of the Indian Air Force. The SU-30 MKI has a maximum speed of 2 Mach with a single in-flight range of 5,200 km. The air-launched BRAHMOS is smaller and lighter than its previous variants but would be equally lethal in firepower and devastating capability with maximum speed of 290-km and 2.8 Mach respectively.
