About DefExpo:

India will turn a bustling hub for the global defence industry when it hosts the seventh edition of the biennial Defence Expo at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from March 29 to April 1.

Organised by the Ministry of Defence, Defexpo 2012 - Land, Naval and Internal Security Systems Exhibition, will provide a grand platform to world's leading defence firms and industry heavyweights to showcase and promote their latest military equipment, weapon systems and technological know-how, especially in the Asian region, which has fast emerged as a lucrative market for major military deals, defence co-operations and technology transfers.

India, which has been pursuing a rapid military modernisation programme by acquiring new weapons and equipment for all three wings of its armed forces with a thrust on indigenised defence production, will also exhibit and promote its domestic defence industrial developments during the mega event.

The four-day international event - pegged to be one of Asia's largest - will attract the participation of 567 defence companies from 32 countries worldwide.

A seminar on "Enhancing Defence Production Capability through DPP" will be organised alongside the event on March 29. The seminar will provide a unique opportunity for both the domestic and foreign industry to interface with senior officials from the Ministry of Defence on defence procurement issues.
