UNITED NATIONS (PTI): The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has declared that it has no proof of any nuclear weapon programme in Iran.

"With respect to a recent media report, the IAEA reiterates that it has no concrete proof that there is or has been a nuclear programme in Iran," the agency said in statement.

At the Board of Governors meeting on September 9, Director General Mohamed El Baradei had denied that the IAEA was withholding information on Iran and said the allegations were politically motivated and totally baseless.

A few hours before the denial was issued, the Associated Press revealed, on the basis of a secret report, that the experts at IAEA agreed that Iran has the capability of building a nuclear bomb, and is on its way to developing a missile system able to carry an atomic warhead.

The report said that this appears to be the so called "secret annex" on Iran's nuclear program that the IAEA's chief has been accused of hiding. The United States and other countries have warned that Iran is pursuing its ambitions to make a nuclear weapon.
